Inhalation uses the diaphragm, and external intercostal muscles. During Inhalation the diaphragm muscle goes down and the rib cage goes up.
Expiration:Breathing out
Exhalation doesn't really use muscles it just relaxing the muscles that you used for inspiration. Forced experation on th eother hand uses: the obliques and transverse muscles of the abdominal wall. During expiration the diaphragm moves up and relaxes and the ribs move down and are relaxed.
