Objective 14-Sexy Pancreas

 As we were dissecting our cat, we had to locate various organs. We found our pancreas and all I can remember about it was what Mike said, "wow, that's a sexy pancreas." Then several students in the class came to see our "sexy" pancreas. All because of what Mike said is how I have been able to remember what the pancreas looks like. I also learned from the Physio ex. portion of the lab book what the pancreas does. It produces insulin. I also learned from bouncing off of Valerie the difference between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. This is our saying to help us remember the difference, "for one thing you ain't got none, and for 2 you just don't get it". Because in type 1 diabetes your pancreas does not produce insulin, and in type 2 diabetes your pancreas makes the insulin but your cells don't respond to it.
